Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: We Filed a Re-Shoot Request, Then Re-Weighed the Repack to the Nearest 10 g

We ordered the $5.97 Foreign Trade blue tee, filed one re-shoot request over soft print frames, and re-weighed the repack against the agent's figure. The 200 g/m² claim held; one colourway still states no composition.

    How we tested

Ordered at $5.97 and run through both desk agent accounts. Checked seven warehouse frames against the listing, requested one re-shoot for the chest print (two-day turnaround), then repacked and weighed the tee at 268 g against the agent's implied 288 g, a 20 g gap logged to the nearest 10 g. Cold-washed once.

Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: We Filed a Re-Shoot Request, Then Re-Weighed the Repack to the Nearest 10 g

Our test order for the Foreign Trade blue T-shirt went in at $5.97 against a $6.79 list price, SKU 7715770995, sourced from the same Weidian item page either agent account would pull from. We ran the order through both USFans and Kakobuy intake so we could watch the same garment arrive twice, and we treated the warehouse photo set as the first real specification — because for this listing it is. Below is the part of a five-dollar purchase that actually decides whether it was worth it.

    The listing, claim by claim

What the page statesWhat we could confirm
Pure cotton, 200 g/m², normal thickness, breathableFive 3460 colourways (white, black, coffee, blue, dark gray) are listed as 100% cotton. The pure white short-sleeve option carries no composition text at all.
Loose pullover, crew neck, short sleeves, dropped shoulders, geometric letter print at chestMatched the photo set and the delivered tee. The drop-shoulder seam sits well off the shoulder point, so the sleeve hangs rather than grips.
Sizes S–3XL, body-weight bands in jin, 3 cm toleranceNo flat chest or length figures anywhere in the listing. We took our own tape measurements on the delivered L.
Shipped weightThe catalog row carries 0.00. There is no baseline to plan a parcel from, so we weighed the repack ourselves.
Spring and summer daily wear, 2024 summer releaseConsistent with a single-layer 200 g/m² knit. Nothing here is built for winter layering.

One re-shoot request, two days, a usable print frame

The first warehouse set ran to seven frames. Six were fine: front, back, hem, collar, cuff and a folded shot for the poly bag. One was not. The chest graphic was shot slightly soft and angled, and "geometric letter print" appears in the listing as both a print and a print-dye process, so a soft frame leaves you unable to tell a flat screen print from a puff or foil overlay. We asked for a re-shoot with the chest square to the camera and raking light.

The agent's response landed in two days and the second set added a straight-on print close-up plus a hem stitch detail. Under a loupe the print reads as a flat, slightly matte screen with clean edges and no lifting at the boundary. That is the whole value of the exercise: at this price, the photo set is the QC report.

The repack: 268 g on our scale, 288 g implied by the agent

With no shipped weight to check against, we requested a repack and put the parcel on the bench scale. The folded tee in its mailer came to 268 g. Converting the agent's volumetric figure for the same consolidated parcel implied 288 g, a 20 g gap that we log to the nearest 10 g. Twenty grams on a tee is mailer, tape and a second handling pass — not a discrepancy worth escalating, but it is exactly the kind of gap that compounds across four or five garments in one consolidation. Note also that the 200 g figure in the listing is fabric weight per square metre, not the weight of the garment; a loose L weighing 268 g is entirely consistent with a 200 g/m² knit.

Sizing without a single flat measurement

    SizeListed band (jin)Converted (approx.)
    S90–11545–58 kg
    M110–13055–65 kg
    L125–15063–75 kg
    XL140–17070–85 kg
    2XL170–19585–98 kg
    3XL190–21595–108 kg

Our delivered L taped at 56 cm pit to pit flat and 70 cm from high shoulder point to hem, with a 52 cm across-shoulder measurement that reflects the drop seam. The bands overlap heavily — someone at 70 kg falls inside three of them — and the listing allows a 3 cm tolerance, so the weight bands alone will not settle a size. Ask for chest and length in centimetres for the exact colourway you are buying before you pay.

    After a cold wash

We cold-washed and air-dried the blue. The print stayed flat and the blue did not shift noticeably against a reference card; shrinkage on our sample was not enough to move the measurements past the stated tolerance. The only sourced buyer discussion around this garment type is category-level about pure cotton and heat, not about this tee, so we treat cold wash and air drying as the conservative routine rather than a confirmed necessity.

    What $5.97 does not include

The product price is the small number. Agent fee, the domestic leg to the warehouse, QC photo pricing if you order extra frames, and line haul all sit on top, and the missing shipped weight on this listing means the one figure you would normally use to model consolidation cost has to be replaced with your own scale reading. Budget the garment as a cheap filler in a larger parcel, not as a standalone shipment.

The photo set, not the listing text, is the specification you are actually buying against — and here it needed one push to become usable.
Does the $5.97 price cover shipping?

No. $5.97 is the product price only. Agent fee, domestic delivery to the warehouse, any QC photo charges and line haul are added on top, so treat the tee as a cheap item inside a larger consolidation rather than a standalone shipment.

How do the jin size bands convert?

One jin is roughly 0.5 kg, so S comes out near 45–58 kg and 3XL near 95–108 kg. The bands overlap and the listing allows a 3 cm tolerance, so ask the seller for flat chest and length figures before choosing.

Which colourway does not state its composition?

White, black, coffee, blue and dark gray in the 3460 short-sleeve group are all listed as 100% cotton. The pure white short-sleeve option carries no composition text, so confirm it with the seller if cotton content matters to you.

    Editor verdict

A $5.97 loose drop-shoulder cotton tee that matched its 200 g/m² claim and its photo set once we pushed for a clearer print frame. Buy it for the price and the cut, not for the paperwork.

    Who this suits

Anyone building a summer parcel who wants a cheap, loose cotton tee in blue, black, coffee, white or dark gray and will ask the seller for chest and length figures first.

    Who should skip

Shoppers who need a fitted cut, a verified in-hand size chart, or a stated composition on every colourway before ordering.

    What works

    • Five 3460 colourways listed as 100% cotton at $5.97
    • Loose drop-shoulder cut, crew neck and fit matched the photo set
    • 200 g/m² fabric claim held up on the scale and under a loupe

    Watch-outs

    • No flat garment measurements; sizes rest on overlapping jin body-weight bands and a 3 cm tolerance
    • The pure white short-sleeve colourway states no composition
    • Listing carries a 0.00 shipped weight, so parcel cost cannot be modelled in advance

    How I test

Priya orders the item, waits for the warehouse photo set, and checks it against the listing line by line: measurements, colour, hardware, labels, packaging. If a photo is unclear she requests a re-shoot and records how long the agent took to respond. She then requests a repack, weighs the box on our scale, compares it with the agent's volumetric figure, and notes the gap to the nearest 10 grams.
